It’s that time of year again! Kids have gone back to school. You may be wondering what you can do to keep your child healthy this year. We have a few tips in mind that may help!
- Teach them how to wash their hands properly
The power of washing hands frequently works wonders. This seems self-explanatory but according to the USDA in 2018 97% of people don’t wash their hands correctly. Make sure your child does not fall into that category.
- Make sure your child is getting quality sleep
Without it your child won’t be able to make it through the whole school day. You might have to pay attention to their screen time before bed to ensure optimal sleep. Or choosing a bedtime that allows them to rest fully. If they are struggling to sleep at night you may need to invest in more comfortable bedding.
- Keep up with your child’s mental health
Going back to school might be hard for your child and you need to check in with them emotionally. Be there to navigate this new school year with them and reassure them that they can do this.
- Help them stay active
Sitting all day isn’t good for anyone. Once they get home from school take them to the park or go on a walk and let them release some energy. This is great for bonding with your child as well.
- Provide healthy meals
They need to start the day off right with a nutritious breakfast. Lunch should also be nutritious and abundant enough to where they aren’t starving all day. Food is their fuel!
Keeping these tips in mind will help your child start this new school year off the right way.
